03 Dec 2007 - Winter storms lash southern UK.
70mph winds tear across southern parts of the UK on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday 60 ft waves were recorded off the west Irish coast. Some hard core surfers in their element were captured riding the massive waves. Duncan Scott, pro surfer, was riding the massive breakers at Mullagmore Head in Donegal Bay with the safety backup aid of a jet ski in tow. CLOUD news caught up with Duncan who described the waves as "awesome and very scary". He said "It was a thorougly planned operation with high adrenalin rush and very rewarding" CLOUD news will be receiving the photos very soon. On Sunday the UK's south west took a real hammering with huge waves breaking across many coastal areas. CLOUD news has been sent these great images by Peter Scot taken in Newhaven showing 100ft waves lashing against the lighthouse. View the Newhaven Storm images here . Last update : 03-12-2007 15:09
